Play Fair Earth Month Photo Contest Winners

May 13, 2019

Along with the New York League of Conservation Voters, New Yorkers for Parks celebrated Earth Month and promoted the Play Fair campaign with a social media photo contest. We asked New Yorkers to post pictures of their favorite park, playground, or other natural area with the hashtag #PlayFair on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. The entrants included why the park was important to them in order to raise awareness about the importance of green spaces in New York City.

The overall contest winner was Jessica, with a photo of Highland Park Ridgewood Reservoir, which straddles the Brooklyn-Queens border. It shows the kind of natural beauty that exists even in our dense urban city, and how parks are places for us to be all year-round. Jessica won a certificate for 2 people for an outdoor class or outing, sponsored by REI.
