Lynn Kelly Accepts New Role, will Depart from New Yorkers for Parks
After a Successful Three Years, Kelly will Lead the New York Restoration Project as its Next Executive Director
Longtime New Yorkers for Parks Board member Paul Gottsegen will Serve as its Acting Executive Director

23 December 2019 -- New York, NY -- Today, New Yorkers for Parks (NY4P) announced that Executive Director Lynn Kelly will leave the organization to join the New York Restoration Project as its next Executive Director. Long-time NY4P board member and board co-chair Paul Gottsegen will assume the role of acting Executive Director as of January 9th, while the organization conducts a search for Ms. Kelly’s successor.

“After great success, our Executive Director Lynn Kelly is leaving to become the Executive Director of the New York Restoration Project. In her time at NY4P, Lynn and her team launched Play Fair, a coalition-led advocacy campaign which secured an historic $43 million in new funding for parks and open space in New York City,” said Mr. Gottsegen.  Joel Steinhaus, Board Co-chair added, “We wish her great success and look forward to working with her in her new role.” 

Ms. Kelly joined New Yorkers for Parks in 2016 from Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden.  Mr. Gottsegen is currently Executive Asset and Acquisition Manager for the U.S. and Canada at Time Equities and was previously President of Halstead Management Company, LLC from 2001 through 2017.  He has served on the board of NY4P since 2010, and most recently served as chair of its policy committee, while recently being appointed co-chair of the organization.

NY4P will continue to make plans for the second year of its coalition-led advocacy campaign, Play Fair.  It is conducting an immediate search for its next permanent executive director.
