Building off of the 2021 Open Space Profiles, NY4P's Open Space Solutions highlight actionable, community-led initiatives to improve, expand, and better connect parks and tree canopy in park-starved community districts.
The initial round of reports looks at Bronx Community Board 5, Brooklyn Community Boards 11 and 17, Manhattan Community Board 10, and Queens Community Board 2.
Proposals include the Dutch Kills Loop in Long Island City, which will connect 1.4 miles of waterfront, and the A. Philip Randolph Square Revitalization in Harlem, which will transform a neglected plaza into a thriving community hub while honoring local history.
