NY4P released today The 2006 Progress Report on Neighborhood Parks, which revisited the neighborhood parks we ranked the best and worst in our 2005 issue of the award winning Report Card on Parks. We're sad to report that while several remain in great condition, even some of the best aren't doing so well. New surveys of these 20 parks conducted in June and July found that five of the top scoring parks from 2005’s Report Card continued fare very well. However, the other half of the top ten? Not so great. Parks such as Alice Austen, Father Macris and Cpl. Thompson Parks, all located on Staten Island, went from ‘A’ grades to ‘B’s and ‘C’s. Most glaring is Tenney Park in Glen Oaks, Queens, which plummeted the most, going from an A+ to an F. Not too surprisingly, all of the lowest scoring parks in 2005 received ‘F’s again in 2006.
