New Yorkers for Parks’ Research & Planning Department monitors park conditions, educates the public about park policy and funding issues, and weighs in on open space components of real estate developments in all five boroughs.  Our reports and studies work to affect change on a citywide level, offering solutions to ensure that park services are efficient, effective and equitable.

Tracking Crime in NYC Parks

In the 2008 report, “Tracking Crime in New York City Parks,” New Yorkers for Parks analyzes data collected through a pilot program which tracks crime in the city’s 20 largest parks.

Making the Most of Our Parks

New Yorkers for Parks and the Citizens Budget Commission released in June, 2007, Making the Most of Our Parks.  This report highlights past successes and current challenges for New York City parks.  In addition, it offers concrete recommendations for how to improve the parks system so that more new yorkers have green, clean and safe parks in their neighborhood.
