It seems that the last straw in the fight to stop the new Yankee stadium in the Bronx has been sucked dry. A Federal District Court Judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by several groups to stop the construction of the stadium from taking away 22 acres of South Bronx parkland. The groups, including our friends Save Our Parks, claimed that the National Park Service failed to protect the parks. And considering the parks are now inaccessible and 400 mature trees have been cut down, we're uh, pretty sure the parks were not protected, "substitute parkland" or no.
